- applications
- polynomials (relationship between degree and number of zeros, end behavior)
Students should be comfortable with (generally know domain/range/graph of)
- radical function
- step functions
- absolute value functions
- piecewise functions
- exponential/log functions
- equations and graphs of conics
- arithmetic w/complex numbers
- sequences (including recursive definitions)
- sums (including arithmetic, geometric, squares, cubes)
Students should be familiar with
- Right triangle definitions of sin θ, cos θ, tan θ (SohCahToa)
- Special triangles (30° - 60° - 90°) and (45° - 45° - 90°)
Students should be able to
- factor trinomials (un-FOIL)
- factor difference of perfect squares
- factor sum/difference of perfect cubes
- factor by grouping
- simplify expressions using properties/rules of exponents
- simplify expressions using properties/rules of logarithms
- solve equations involving linear, quadratic, square root, absolute value, rational functions
- solve inequalities involving linear, quadratic, polynomial, absolute value, rational functions
